In a week where the Cowboys were coming off a Monday night loss and the Eagles should have been fairly fresh from a bye week, many fans expected a big win over the division rivals that would have put our season back on track. The only problem was it was too good to be true.
The Cowboys would rally behind Ezekiel Elliot, who would run all over the Eagles with 151 yards and one touchdown. He would receive help from some daring play calling from Jason Garrett and a clean performance from Dak Prescott, who would throw for 260 yards and one touchdown through the air and another on the ground. They would take advantage of a beat up and generally under-performing defense and win the game, 27-20.
While the usual suspects Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz would lead the way and keep us in the game and account for both touchdowns, that would not be enough because of a poor offensive line, slow start and all around bad defensive performance. The Eagles just wouldn’t have enough to win this game.
All hope isn’t lost and we will go in to New Orleans next week hoping once again to turn this ship around. Meanwhile, the Cowboys go in to Atlanta to try and take this momentum and keep in the fight for the top as they now have a distinct advantage over the Eagles, who will now be even further behind with two teams ahead of them in the division.
