It's a story that will make you pump your fist with excitement; the Phillies' bullpen is nearly complete.
This morning, it was established that the bullpen will be set as Ryan Madson, Jose Contreras, Kyle Kendrick, J.C. Romero, Danys Baez, David Herndon, and Antonio Bastardo. This news came minutes after Scott Mathieson and Mike Zagurski were optioned to minor league camp.
Rich Dubee told the media that the bullpen is not finalized, my guess is because someone will be optioned to the minors when Brad Lidge returns from the disabled list. By the way, this is the third time in four years that Lights Out Lidge will start the season on the D.L.
There's just one more thing that Phillies fans want out of this bullpen, and that's the return of "The 'Pen" on Comcast Sports Net. Or maybe that's just me, I thoroughly enjoyed that show.
Opening day is just six days away, get pumped!
