When I wrote this piece the other day about Bobby Abreu being availble after a strong Venezuelan League season, it seemed like it was just the type of the thing the Phillies would do. Guess what? Today we learned the Phillies were interested from CSN Philly's Jim Salisbury:
Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly spoke to Phillies General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr., who confirmed that the are considering Abreu, among other options.
The Phillies, still looking for a left-handed bat to come off the bench, are “sniffing around” on Bobby Abreu, multiple baseball sources tell CSNPhilly.com.
General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. did not deny gathering intelligence on the veteran outfielder, who turns 40 in March.
“We’re looking at all the left-handed bats still out there and he’s one of them,” Amaro said.

If 2003 is happening all over again, does that mean the hair I lost will come back, will be less grey, I'll weigh less, and be 21 again?
I hope so.
