The Ringer makes spoof documentary on Joel Embiid

This upcoming season for the Philadelphia 76ers is an exciting one. Ben Simmons, Dario Saric and Joel Embiid headline the handful of players that will be suiting up for the Sixers on their new-look roster. We've seen Ben Simmons in Summer League, watched Dario Saric in the Olympics, but the most anticipated debut this year has to be that of Joel Embiid. This summer, he's posted numerous workout videos, dunking on an NBA strength coach under six feet tall, along with rejecting little kids with emphatic blocks at the Sixers Beach Bash in Avalon, New Jersey.

Theringer.com, a new website created by Bill Simmons, took it upon themselves to make a video mocking Embiid and the excitement for his debut after seeing videos of him posterizing tiny coaches.

“Joel Embiid is one of the bravest men probably on the face of the planet,” one of the analysts in the video said.

“I was watching when Kobe Bryant put up 81 against the Raptors. The most impressive thing I’ve ever seen on a basketball court? Joel Embiid Instagram video of him working out.”

Embiid reacted to the video a day or so after the fact, tweeting that he thought it was amazing and hilarious. All things being said, the Sixers 2014 first round pick says he's 100 percent and he is just one piece on the roster that we hope will bring Philadelphia into contention again in the NBA.
