The Tuesday TANK report
Each week, we take a look at where the Sixers rank among some of the teams competing for the top lottery picks.
TANK Power Rankings (based on chances to finish with No. 1 lottery odds)
- Minnesota (8-40)
- PHILADELPHIA (10-39)
- New York (10-38)
- LA Lakers (13-35)
- Orlando (15-36)
- Utah (17-30)
- Indiana (17-32)
- Boston (16-30)
- Detroit (18-30)
- Sacramento (17-29)
Not quite tanking, but sitting in “basketball purgatory”.
- Charlotte (21-27)
- Brooklyn (19-28)
- Denver (19-29)
- New Orleans (26-22)
TANK observations of the week:
- New Orleans sure is looking good and Anthony Davis really is looking like an MVP candidate. But do you see them beating out Oklahoma City for one of the final spots? It may be a wasted effort in the loaded, monstrous Western Conference.
- Denver, who is now almost 10 games out of the playoffs, may have just killed any shot at a playoff rally they may have had with their recent 1-9 stretch. That being the case, is it time to tank?
- Speaking of free-falling, Orlando is the biggest free falling team in the NBA, now on a nine game losing streak to fall 7.5 games out of a playoff spot.
- What got into Utah Friday night that they handled Golden State—and rather easily?
TANK games to look out for this week:
- Tuesday: Boston at New York
- Wednesday: Denver at Boston
- Friday: LA Lakers at Orlando
