Thirteen former Phillies yet to be signed ahead of spring training

With pitchers and catchers due to report to spring training in just over two weeks, remaining time in the Major League Baseball offseason is quickly running outespecially for free agents.

There are currently 13 former members of the Philadelphia Phillies who have yet to sign with a new club for the upcoming season. Seven out of the baker's dozen are position players, while the six others are a combination of veteran starting pitchers who would likely transition to a bullpen role if signed.

Domonic Brown (28)

Marlon Byrd (38)

  • The San Francisco Giants declined Byrd's $8 million club option for the 2016 season on Nov. 5. Byrd has yet to be linked to a specific team this offseason.

Jeff Francoeur (32)

  • The Brewers, Pirates and Rangers "could have some interest" in Francoeur, according to a Dec. 7 report by ESPN.
  • MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported on Jan 11. that Francoeur was being 'looked at' by the Marlins, who seek a right-handed bat.

Jimmy Rollins (37)

  • Teams are interested in Rollins taking on a "hybrid utility role" for 2016, according to a Dec. 2 ESPN report.
  • On Jan. 8, FOX Sports reported that "multiple teams" have inquired on Rollins playing second base. Rollins is reportedly "open to idea," but he wants to wait if an opportunity at shortstop arises.

Chad Billingsley (31)

  • Billingsley was reported to have his right flexor tendon examined in December, where the veteran would then decide on his future, according to The News Journal. Results from the examination and a decision from Billingsley are not yet known.

  • Harang is not sure if he will pitch again, according to Jake Kaplan. He was reported to have returned to his home in San Diego to discuss his future with family.

  • Williams underwent surgery on his Achilles this offseason. He will miss the first couple months of the season, according to Chris Cotillo.
