On Friday night while running to first base, Phillies top prospect Roman Quinn crumbled to the ground in pain. Fortunately, the injury turned out to be nothing too serious as he was placed on the seven-day disabled list this past weekend with a left quad strain. Quinn, ranked as the Phillies seventh best prospect in the organization by Baseball America leads the Double-A Eastern League in steals with 29 and runs scored with 44.
Quinn, 22, is hitting .306 this season with six doubles, six triples, four home runs and 15 RBIs. Against Akron this past weekend before getting hurt, he went 5-for-13 with three runs scored, a homer, an RBI and two steals. In 11 games so far in June, Quinn is hitting .289 with a triple, a homer, three RBI's, nine runs scored and five stolen bases.
