UPDATE: MLB.com's William Ladson reports that Werth had surgery and will be out "at least 12 weeks".
What you saw is confirmed: Jayson Werth has a broken wrist.
"It's a clean break," Nationals Manager Davey Johnson said last night to the Washington Post piece listed above.
Werth could be out "months".
While it was fun to rag on the former Phillie, I'm sure we all felt the pain wtih him last night. This is a tremendous blow to the Nationals, who are already without their 3 and 4 hitters in Ryan Zimmerman and Mike Morse.
This is the same wrist that almost ended Werth's career in Spring Training 2005, when he was hit by an A.J. Burnett pitch.
