The Phillies met up with the rebuilding Houston Astros in South Philly. Once a regular foe, the Astros' move to the American League meant that this was a rare matchup between the two clubs. The Astros sent Dallas Keuchel to the mound and the Phillies sent Kyle Kendrick to battle. Each would give up one earned run en route to a really long snoozer.

To open the 15th inning, Grady Sizemore singled to right field on a ball that very well could have been played by second baseman Jose Altuve. Ben Revere sacrificed himself and moved Sizemore into scoring position at second. After Jimmy Rollins flied out, Chase Utley was intentionally walked by Astros pitcher Jake Buchanan, Ryan Howard stepped to the plate.
On a 1-2 count, Howard singled to right field to give the Phillies the game, 2-1.
Notable Statistics:
None, really. Lots and lots of zeros. I guess the bullpen did well, so that's good.
Impact:
Everyone will be really, really tired tomorrow.
Up Next:
More of this with the same Houston Astros tomorrow. David Buchanan returns to the bigs to face Brad Peacock, who was demoted from the majors back on July 23.
