The most recent ejection at a Phillies game came within the last week when Phillies bench coach Larry Bowa got tossed in Miami for arguing a third strike call. That is until Tuesday night, when veteran umpire Bob Davidson, working behind home plate, tossed someone else. The one ejected was incredibly rare: a Phillies fan. The incident occurred with one out in the sixth inning.
The Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Breen asked Davidson about the incident and got a full explanation:
The umpire told a pool reporter that the fan was repeatedly yelling a sexual innuendo and telling the Giants players that they "suck."
"That’s when I turned around and said ‘You know what, get rid of this guy.’ You could have your wife, girlfriend, kids – they buy tickets," Davidson said. "They don’t have to come here and listen to that.”
"And people cheered me. Which is unusual in this town for me," Davidson said.
Phillies fans know when someone needs to leave.

The fan reportedly cooperated and left "on his own" without further incident:
#Phillies spokesperson said Bob Davidson complained to security about fan's language and, when approached, fan agreed to leave on his own.
