Undisclosed Injury Causing McCoy to Miss Pro Bowl

Eagles running back, LeSean McCoy, will be excused from the Pro Bowl scheduled to take place on January 25th, according to the Inquirer's Jeff McLane. No alternative has been selected to fill McCoy's spot yet. Eddy Lacy of the Packers and Jeremy Hill of the Bengals are possible options.

It seems like McCoy's injury isn't being considered bad, but it could be related to a dinged up knee he suffered in the Eagles season finale against the Giants.

The official reason for McCoy's withdrawal was an injury, although it isn't considered serious, per the source. He suffered a knee injury in the season finale at the New York Giants, but the injury wasn't deemed significant at the time.

With McCoy's absence, that leaves five members of the Eagles who are slated to participate in NFL's All-Star Game. Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, Connor Barwin and Darren Sproles were originally selected while Evan Mathis was added when Jahri Evans of the Saints declined.

There is still a likely chance Cody Parkey makes the game, but that all depends on the outcome of the Colts and Patriots game as Stephen Gostkowski and Adam Vinatieri are both involved in that matchup.

Though many wouldn't consider 2013-14 as a better year for McCoy, the Eagles primary tailback finished the season with 1,319 yards, good for third in the NFL. He has a salary cap number just $12 million next year and there have been conflicting reports as to whether or not McCoy would be open to taking a pay cut.
