Union Look Out Of Sync In Loss To Nashville

Chester, PA: There is excitement surrounding the Philadelphia Union as they are off to one of their best starts in franchise history. On Sunday afternoon, they looked to remain undefeated as they took on Nashville from Subaru Park in Chester, PA.

The Union had come into the game off a win over New England.

How the game went:
Early on, both Philly and Nashville had some good scoring chances but were unable to finish it off. Nashville started the scoring in the 15th minute on a goal from Sam Surridge for the early 1-0 lead.

The Union would strike back on a corner kick from Jovan Lukic and the crowd at Subaru Park was liking what they were seeing.

 

At this point of the first half, the Union would attempt to retake the lead on multiple scoring chances but could not get it done. Before the first half came to an end, Nashville would suck all the momentum out of Subaru Park with a goal from Ahmed Qasemand, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime.

Going into the second half, what could the Union do to get back into the game?

The game would change on a very questionable play, as a Nashville player would tackle Quinn Sullivan & VAR would come into play. The decision would be made: No Foul on Nashville

The decision from the official:

The crowd at Subaru Park was not be happy with the decision.

Later on in the second half, Nashville would have a corner kick and hard foul in front of the net with Jakob Glesnes. VAR would rule a penalty kick for Nashville and the crowd at Subaru Park was very angry with the decision. Things would start to end up on the field:

Nashville would score the PK for a 3-1 lead and it would be an uphill battle for the Union to get back into the game.

As the game would come to an end, the crowd at Subaru Park would give it to the officials as they walked off the field:

 

 

This was a very frustrating day for the Union. Whatever Nashville had going on got them thrown off their game the entire day and the officials would not make things better with the way they would call the game in the second half.
