Update: Jordan Hicks out for the season with torn pectoral muscle

The Philadelphia Eagles learned on Monday that rookie inside linebacker Jordan Hicks is out for the remainder of the 2015 season.

The third-round pick seemed to be the steal of the draft for the Eagles. Hicks didn't play any defensive snaps in the first week of the regular season, and he earned a starting position by making a huge impact on the Eagle defense.

He was thrust into a starting position after Kiko Alonso and Mychal Kendricks suffered injuries in Week 2. Hicks broke Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo's clavicle in that game.

Hicks had 50 combined tackles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions in six starts this season. He is the first Eagle ever to make a fumble recovery in three consecutive games.

He picked off Matt Cassel for a 67-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter Sunday night's 33-27 victory over the Cowboys.

Later in the game, Hicks got injured while tackling Cole Beasley and left the game.

Hicks didn't seem like the injury was a big deal when speaking with reporters after the game, but an MRI on Monday revealed that he torn his pectoral muscle.

The Eagles have placed Hicks on season-ending injured reserve.
