(Video) Navy ‘leap frogs’ parachute into Citizens Bank Park

Parachute onto field

The Philadelphia Phillies lost their home opener Monday, but those that attended the game were treated to quite the show.

Prior to the game, the Phillies honored late Flyers founder and chairman Ed Snider with a moment of silence. That moment of silence was followed by an impressive rendition of the national anthem by Harry Kalas' son, Kane. My personal favorite moment came after that when the Phillies had wounded police officer Jesse Hartnett threw out the ceremonial first pitch and he then successfully proposed to his girlfriend. The team also had Villanova stars Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu throw out first pitches, as the entire team was honored following their national title win.

Before anyone even got in the stadium, something else pretty cool happened.

According to FOX Sports, these are Navy "Leap Frogs" performing a dress rehearsal, before they performed this stunt prior to the game.

Executing the jump from a plane takes practice, which is why the Leap Frogs shared this video of their test run, showing what it feels like to pull off the stunt.

Though there was a part of me that was disappointed to learn that these weren't actually frogs that the Navy trained to fly into the stadium — in the same way that the Eagles have the bald Eagle fly across Lincoln Financial Field — this is pretty cool.
