Vince Velasquez heads to the disabled list
The Phillies have announced that pitcher Vince Velasquez has been placed on the 15-Day DL with a right biceps strain. Velasquez left his last start on Wednesday's loss after just two pitches with a significant dip in velocity. Taking his place on the roster is relief pitcher Luis Garcia from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Garcia has had a nice season so far for the IronPigs, appearing in 21 games (26 innings) and pitching to a 2.77 ERA with 25 strike outs and a 1.23 WHIP. He'll be here through the Nationals series until Tuesday when a starter is needed. It's not yet known who will fill the void but prospect Zach Eflin seems best lined up for it. Though if the front office decide the 22-year-old isn't quite ready, they could call on David Buchanan or just stretch out Brett Oberholtzer who pitched half decent in relief on Wednesday.
