The NHL's best gathered on Sunday afternoon in the 2015 NHL All-Star Game. Nick Foligno of the host Columbus Blue Jackets and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks were captains of the two teams.
Team Toews dominated the second period en route to a win over Team Foligno, 17-12, in Sunday's All-Star Game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus.
Team Foligno struck for the game's first goal at 3:09 on a breakaway by Radim Vrbata. But Team Toews rallied back with goals by Ryan Getzlaf and Jake Voracek.
Team Foligno would score three of the next four goals, two by Ryan Johansen. Kevin Shattenkirk also scored during that stretch.
Team Toews kept the game close with a goal by Patrice Bergeron between the Team Foligno scoring. In the final minute of the first, Team Toews tied the game on a goal by John Tavares.
Team Toews dominated the second period with seven goals. Tavares would score twice in the period with Voracek, Ryan Suter, Tyler Seguin, Rick Nash and Filip Forsberg scoring the other goals. Team Foligno got two goals from Steven Stamkos in the period, while Claude Giroux and Foligno scored as well.
In the third, Nash, Seguin and Forsberg added their second goals of the game for Team Toews. Voracek would complete the hat trick and Tavares netted his fourth, tying an All-Star Game record. Toews would also score in the period. Bobby Ryan, Patrick Kane and Brent Burns scored for Team Foligno.
Voracek finished with six points, which led all players and tied an All-Star Game record, scoring three goals and adding three assists. Giroux scored one goal and had two assists for a three-point night.
A new All-Star Game record was set with 27 goals being scored. Johansen was named the game's MVP, scoring two goals and adding one assist.

The NHL schedule resumes on Tuesday night. The Flyers will take on the Arizona Coyotes at home.
