The Phillies were the on the wrong end of a no-hitter on Sunday afternoon, as Josh Beckett of the Dodgers kept the Phillies' bats quiet. One of the bright sides to watching the Phillies get no-hit was the promise of free pizza. According to a promotion between MLB.com and Domino's Pizza, the "DomiNoNo", after a no-hitter 20,000 fans may log into their MLB.com accounts and get a free pizza. The result was failure.
I was among many who, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern, logged onto MLB.com/dominos to receive the free pizza. I was logged in by 2:45 and patiently waited for 3:00. Despite being logged in and going to the site, I could not get it to load. I only got an error response. Eventually, the above image was displayed. But, fans are upset.
Here are some examples:
getting a free @dominos would have at least eased some of the pain of having the no-hit be against my @Phillies but hey WHATEVER #sports

Of course I can't get the @dominos #Dominono free pizza because I'm a @Phillies fan. #GiveMePizza

Our Greg Vince saw some similarities to the rollout of the healthcare.gov website:
#Dominono is the healthcare.gov of pizza giveaways.

Of course, those who were patient ended up being able to access the healthcare site and get themselves set. Those looking for pizza are out of luck.
If you are still hungry for pizza, Domino's does have a $5.99 large pizza with two toppings promotion right now. I ate that on Monday after thinking I would be able to redeem that free pizza Monday but could not.
