Philadelphia, PA – Having lost 16 of their last 20 games played against the New York Mets (68-56) at Citizens Bank Park, and eight of their last 10, the Philadelphia Phillies (50-75) will seek to reverse their recent fortunes against their division rivals tonight in the second of a four-game set.

Syndergaard, 22, has one career start against the Phillies which took place on May 27 at Citi Field.
In 7 1/3 shutout innings, the right handed rookie allowed just six hits on 101 pitches (66 strikes) as the Mets went on to crush the Phillies, 7-0. Former Phillies outfielders Grady Sizemore and Ben Revere accounted for four of those six hits.
Syndergaard helped his own cause at the plate that game as well, through hitting his first career home run while facing Sean O'Sullivan.
Williams, 33, is 1-2 with a 4.26 ERA and a 1.516 WHIP ratio over six career starts in opposition of the Mets.
The nine-year veteran's most recent outing on the mound was one to forget, as Williams surrendered eight runs on eight hits and four walks over just 1 2/3 innings of work last Thursday against the Miami Marlins.
