Day 2 of the World Junior Championships was a much lighter night for the Flyers prospects in the tournament. For one, all three goalies were not in action with USA and Sweden off, Slovakia playing starter Adam Huska and Canada opting to start backup Connor Ingram over Carter Hart.
That left four players in action during the four games on Tuesday. One of the Flyers Russian prospects was the standout this time around, and it wasn't their 2016 first-round pick.
Mikhail Vorobyov had four assists in Russia's big 9-1 win over Latvia. Vorobyov was also a plus-3 in 17:49 of ice time.
Also playing in the game was German Rubtsov, who is being utilized in more of a defensive role. Rubtsov played 12:20 in the game and did not record a shot on goal while being an even rating for the game.
Earlier in the day, Czech Republic and Switzerland battled in a competitive and spirited game. Switzerland came out with a 4-3 win in overtime. David Kase, Flyers forward prospect for the Czechs, had five shots on goal in 20:48 of ice time.
Finally, Canada claimed victory over Slovakia, 5-0, on Day 2. Hart had the night off, but it was a light night for Ingram, who had to stop just six shots in a shutout win.
Philippe Myers played 17:38 and did not factor into the scoring. The defenseman did take a high-sticking penalty in the game.
Day 3 features just two games on the schedule with Sweden facing Switzerland and USA facing Slovakia. Pending the starting goalies in the games, the Flyers could have four prospects in action tomorrow, but two would be goalies.
Sweden-Switzerland starts at 5 p.m. and USA-Slovakia starts at 7:30 p.m.
